Whether is a change or refreshing of hair color or a cut, every woman visits the hair salon in order to own the quality of being exciting, energetic and sexually attractive.
Unfortunately, this woman’s trip to the hair salon led her having a stroke after getting her hair done. Elizabeth Smith, of California, is suing the Blowbunny: Blow Dry & Hair Extension Bar because as she says, eight days after visiting her local salon, where she had her hair washed for 10 minutes, she developed a stroke, which left her with strength, balance and vision issues. The results from her CT scan showed that the damaged artery in her neck had caused her to have a stroke. Allegedly, they didn’t support her neck properly during the treatment.
This phenomenon has been known as “Beauty Parlor Stroke”, and doctors, as well as hair salon owners are familiar with it.
“This is a potential problem that we’ve seen as the cause of strokes, usually in younger people,”. “When you hyperextend your neck, there can be a little bit of compression on the artery from simply just changing the position or the bones slide a little bit one over the other,”says Peter Gloviczki, M.D., a vascular surgeon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
In this video below, the woman reveals her story about her 8 month recovery and her desire to warn others who aren’t familiar with this danger.
