Proper preservation and preparation of food is of a great importance since it can prevent food poisoning. On the other hand, if you prepare your food carelessly, it can be detrimental to your health and leave life-threatening consequences.

  • Tomatoes –contain a toxin called tomatin is found in the leaf and green part of this fruit,  which can be used in pest control. Do not eat tomatoes if you suffer from rheumatism.
  • Potatoes – green potatoes contain high amounts of  glycoalkaloids poison.There have been recorded some death cases, but they are really rare.
  • Brazil nuts – are the foods with the highest doses of natural radioactivity – 800 times the concentration than in any other food.
  • Cherries – remove seeds because they contain cyanide. Just a few seeds can lead to  poisoning, increased body temperature, difficulties in breathing.
  • Nutmeg –well- known hallucinogen. It can cause a type of  psychosis linked to a sense of certain doom. Overdose can harm your psychological state.
  • Puffer fish – is Japanese delicacy that causes paralysis and death. It took two to three years for the chefs to learn how to prepare it.
